Rep. James P. Weiers has represented his community for the past 12 years at the Legislature. He served 10 years in the House, including two terms as Speaker of the House, and 2 years in the Senate. Throughout his tenure as a legislator, he has established a reputation as an effective, pragmatic leader willing to work with members of both parties. His efforts to establish and maintain positive relationships resulted in a spirit of bipartisanship and cooperation.
Rep. Weiers was born in South Dakota and first arrived in Arizona in 1965. He has managed and owned a number of successful businesses. His broad business and managerial experience has contributed to his reputation as a leader in business regulation and tax reform issues. Rep. Weiers is a tireless advocate for the people of his community. He enjoys nothing more than to work hard to solve the problems his neighbors are having working with a government that is often times unresponsive or unreasonable.
Jim and his wife, Gina, are the proud parents of four children and chose Arizona as the place they wanted to raise their family. Recently Jim and his family have been blessed with twin granddaughters, Jasmine and Isabel. He believes strongly in maintaining our public safety programs and in having a strong education system so that Arizona is the best place to live for all families.
